Concerning an Update

It’s been a couple months now since my first entries on this blog, which was not exactly what I planned when I started it. But things have a habit of getting away from us, and so I’ve gone a spell without writing. I’ll be working on correcting that in the coming week.

In the time since I last wrote, I’ve seen a number of new films, fallen in love with a new fantasy series and begun a journey watching a stellar new science fiction show with new friends. The fantasy series will come first in a new post due in a couple days – that series being Netflix’s masterpiece The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

Anticipating “The Dark Crystal”

darkcrystalposterI haven’t had the time as of yet to dive into more of the extensive pieces I wanted to write for this blog, so I’m taking a moment to offer some brief thoughts on my next highly anticipated series – Netflix’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

I’m admittedly not one of the original film’s largest fans. I think the film is a bit on the slow side and is not quite as engaging from a writing and character standpoint as it is from a visual standpoint. But the latter is where my adoration comes in heavily. The Dark Crystal is a tour de force of mesmerizing imagery. I love watching the old school puppetry at work, and it creates a wholly unique world that is unlike anything else. Continue reading

Hello again, friends. I had initially intended to make my first post about the structure of the final 13 episodes of HBO’s Game of Thrones (it’s still coming). But somehow, this felt wrong. My welcome post was brief, and I don’t feel like I’ve yet introduced myself sufficiently to warrant anybody even wanting to follow this blog (or to inspire myself to comfortably spill out all that is rumbling around in my head).
